Hi Kennie and all the team at SSRE,
Well, I knew Steve Schmidt has a reputation for building great race motors ....but I never really knew just how good!
The car's debut was nothing short of perfect...an absolutely stunning car that performs as well as it looks.
Every time the car came out, the crowds and the media flocked to the staging lanes and to the startline.... and they weren't disappointed as the car set a new Track ET & Speed Record and went well under the National ET & Speed Record for it's class. I'm running the car a little lazy. Once I get a bit more confident with setting up the car, a 6 sec pass @ 200+mph isn't far away.
Thanks to you all at SSRE for putting such a tough engine together, and for putting up with my endless emails....speaking of which...you'll be receiving an email from my crew chief, Andrew Johnston, asking for some advice on the engine settings.

Attached is a photo of the Trans Am we drove to a new record in AA/CGC (Classic Gas Coupe) at 252.106 mph beating the old record of 240 mph and got in the Bonneville 200 MPH Club on our first trip to the salt. Our Schmidt powered Trans Am was awesome and our engine performed flawlessly. Special thanks to Steve Schmidt and all the guys back at the shop. Great job guys.

During this time with Schmidt power new records have been set with Tyronne being the first ever to run in the 7.0's second and breaking the speed record a number of times, this record still stands at 193.80mph. In true testimony to Steve is the fact that he has a total of five competitors currently running his engines in Pro Stock in Australia.
