Our 540 drag racing engine is another of our new additions of the 24° conventional Chevy style head engine. This combination has become popular with a lot of racers. We start with a Dart Big M Block that is professionally machined and blueprinted. We install a Callies or Howards 4340 internally balanced Crankshaft, JE Pistons (with our special Total Seal Ring package), tool steel wrist pins, Clevite 77 bearings, Comp Cams Camshaft and Roller Lifters. We finish off the engine with port modified and hand finished 24° aluminum cylinder heads with Manley Stainless valves with Comp Cams hardware, springs and Jomar stud girdles. An MSD distributor handles the ignition and a Edelbrock intake with a Quick Fuel 1150 CFM Carb supplies the fuel. This combo generates 900+ horsepower with over 700 ft. lbs. of torque.
